Participating businesses

Australian businesses want to show their appreciation and support. Different offers work in different ways, such as displaying your card at time of purchase, scanning a business-specific code on a mobile device or scanning a printed voucher code.

Working with APOD

DVA is working with Australian Partners of Defence (APOD) – an Australian-owned organisation which was founded by veteran families, for veteran families – to make it easy for businesses and organisations to recognise and acknowledge the unique nature of military service and the contribution of veterans and their families.

APOD provides a closed membership site where Veteran Card holders will be able to search by location, category or keyword, to redeem business offers online (using a web link or discount code) or in-store by showing their Veteran Card (or the digital version using an offer code, depending on the business).

For a list of businesses participating in the program, click through to the APOD website below to browse by category and geographical area.

To view the specific offers available through APOD, you will need to follow the steps below to register.

Businesses who wish to support the Covenant through offering services or benefits are encouraged to sign up as an APOD Partner on the APOD website.

How to register with APOD

Existing card holders

To gain access to veteran benefits you will need to register with APOD using your Veteran Card or existing DVA health card number. This will give you access to a full list of offers available for Veteran Card holders – including by geographical area.

New applicants

When applying for the Covenant, including the Veteran Card, Lapel Pin and Oath, online using MyService, eligible applicants will be given the option to pre-register with APOD to gain access to the full suite of offers and benefits.

If you do not yet have a MyService account, you will need a myGov account to create one.

Veteran Card holders with existing APOD membership

As an existing Veteran Card holder, APOD is making arrangements to link your membership – you will no longer need to pay membership subscription fees.

How to gain access to benefits if I don’t have access to the Internet

We are here to help. If you have questions about how to complete your application for the Veteran Card or are seeking to redeem a particular offer you have seen or heard about, phone us on 1800 VETERAN (1800 838 372), visit our Veterans’ Access Network in person or drop in to a Department of Human Services’ Mobile Service Centre when it is next in your area.

We will help you with the process and provide you with a particular offer redemption code or voucher.
